He'll be talking about New Haven food and restaurants, and taking your questions. We'll have samples of some of the best food Atticus has to offer (including our legendary Black Bean Soup). Meet the Author: James Cuno Who Owns Antiquity? Museums and the Battle over Our Ancient Heritage Book-signing and Reception Monday, February 22, 6:30pm
Atticus Bookstore/Café will present a booksigning and reception with James Cuno, president and director of the Art Institute of Chicago. Mr. Cuno will be signing copies of Who Owns Antiquity? Museums and the Battle over Our Ancient Heritage, which examines the struggle between museums that own cultural artifacts, and their countries of origin. Prior to the reception, Mr. Charney will present a lecture at the nearby Yale University Art Gallery entitled "The Enlightened Museum Today". The reception is at 6:30pm on February 22nd, and is free and open to the public. |

Photo Exhibit at Atticus Benefits Refugees
New Haven, Connecticut (January 29, 2010) -- Atticus Bookstore-Café in downtown New Haven was the setting last Thursday night for the opening of Wall Art, an exhibition of the photography of Philip Rubin. Proceeds from the sale of these documentary photos are being donated to IRIS - Integrated Refugee & Immigrant Services, a New Haven-based charitable organization. |
